Oodles of Noodles & Wine Fest 09

-featuring Holroyd City Annual Garden Awards

Dust off your picnic hamper and blanket and head to Holroyd Council’s very first Oodles of Noodles and Wine Fest 09 which will be held at Nelson Square, Butu-Wargun Drive, Pemulwuy (off Greystanes Road) on Sunday, 11 October 2009, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

Enjoy a variety of noodles from around the World, taste wines before you buy; browse the market stalls and check out the works on exhibition by local artists.

Be inspired by the winning gardens in the 2009 Annual Garden Award winners including the Grand Champion and Eco Champions.

Mayor, Clr John Perry said, “We had so many great entries in the Garden Awards this year - it certainly was a challenge for our judges to make their final decision.”

To keep the younger audience members entertained, there is a free screening of two free outdoor daytime films - Edward Scissorhands and Ice Age 2 both rated PG. There will also be a host of free childrens’ activities hosted by Bunnings Villawood.

The program also includes performances by Under Construction, a modern contemporary cover band who are sure to get you on your feet plus Sabrina Matwali, Daniel Isaac Jones singing all of your favourite songs accompanied by the Holroyd City Band.

“We are hosting this event in Pemulwuy because Council is looking at moving future events out of Merrylands to highlight more of our vibrant city. We also want to showcase Pemulwuy as a beautiful suburb in which to live”, Clr Perry said.

The Pemulwuy Business Community are also making the most of this great opportunity with Pemulwuy Market Place offering discount vouchers on the day and Nelsons Grove Retirement Village are hosting an Open Day.

Council’s staff will be on hand to gather your input and ideas on how you would like us to shape the city’s future, so come along and fill out a survey for your chance to win great garden inspired prizes.
