A FREE afternoon of fun for carers

All carers, their family and friends are invited to an afternoon of fun presented by Holroyd City Council. Back by popular demand are party favourites Jellybean Jam performing live at Wenty Leagues, Starlight Room, on Sunday 11 October 2009, 11.30am to 2.30pm. There will also be lucky door prizes to give away.

The event is being held in recognition of Carers Week 2009, an awareness week held in October each year across Australia to promote the valuable role of a carer. This year, the theme for Carers Week is ‘Anyone, Anytime across Australia’ to reflect the unexpected and indiscriminate nature of the caring role and to focus on the geographical diversity of carers.

A carer is anyone who looks after someone with a mental illness, disability, chronic condition or who is frail. A carer can be a relative, friend, adult or child and each care situation is different.

For the second year running, Wenty Leagues have been proud supporters of the event by generously providing the venue free of charge.
