
Holroyd City Council has twelve elected Councillors. They are responsible for directing and controlling the affairs of Council.
Council has four wards; North, South, East and West. Each ward elects three Councillors to make up the twelve.
The Mayor is elected each year from amongst the twelve Councillors.
Elections are held every four years and voting is compulsory for all Australian citizens over eighteen years old. All residents who qualify should register with the Australian Electoral Commission.
Councillor Greg Cummings was elected as Mayor of Holroyd for a twelve month period from Tuesday 30 September. Councillor John Perry was elected Deputy Mayor.
