Access to Information
Everyone has the right to inspect a wide range of documents held by Holroyd Council. Documents not available here online may be inspected at Customer Service between 8am and 4.30pm weekdays. Call Customer Service on 9840 9840 for more information.
The following documents are covered by Section 12 of the Local Government Act. If a document is not listed here you may put in request under the Freedom of Information Act.
Free access is provided to many documents, including:
- Council's Code of Conduct
- Council's Code of Meeting Practice
- Annual Report and Auditor's Report
- Management Plan
- EEO Management Plan
- Council Policies
- Agendas, business papers, minutes, resolutions and recommendations for Council and Committee Meetings (except for matters closed to the public)
- Summary of Affairs, the statement of affairs, and the register of policy documents required under the Freedom of Information Act 1989
- Land Register
- Register of Investments
- Register of Delegations
- Annual reports of bodies exercising delegated Council functions
- Applications for approval to erect a building and associated documents
- Development applications and associated documents
- Records of approvals granted, any variations from local policies with reasons for the variation, and decisions made on appeals concerning approvals
- Records of Building Certificates
- Plans of land proposed to be compulsorily acquired by Council
- Leases and licences for use of public land classified as community lands
- Plans of management for community land
- Environmental planning instruments, development control plans, and other plans made under Section 94AB of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 applying to land within the LGA
Access is not provided to a part (if any) of a document consisting of:
- personnel matters involving particular individuals (other than Councillors)
- the personal hardship of a resident/ratepayer
- trade secrets
- plans and specifications for any residential parts of a proposed building other than plans that merely show its height and external configuration in relation to the proposed site
- information that would confer a commercial advantage if disclosed
- a matter that would constitute an offence against the Act or found an action for breach of confidence if disclosed
- information subject to a resolution of confidentiality
