Speeding: no one thinks big of youRoad Safety

See information on:

Road safety adopts a combined approach of education, engineering and enforcement in order to reduce the frequency and severity of crashes.

Holroyd Council takes an active role in making our community's roads safer by targeting specific high risk road user groups and providing localised information for its community.

Council's Road Safety Officer is responsible for local road safety programs and planning future strategies. This is achieved through identifying local road safety issues and increasing community awareness through educational campaigns, designed to reduce the number of crashes for all road users in Holroyd, which are funded by Council and the RTA.

The Holroyd City Council Statistical Analysis examines crashes that have occurred in Holroyd and determines contributing factors and trends. This allows the Road Safety Officer to determine who the high-risk road user groups are and then develop projects that specifically target those groups.

Council is working to grow community support, ownership and participation in road safety issues; encourage and promote safe and responsible road user behaviour; and develop and maintain cooperation and coordination between organisations that have a stake in local road safety issues.
