
All requests for temporary road closures must be in writing and submitted in sufficient time to enable the request to be referred to the Holroyd Traffic Committee for recommendation depending on location (at least a month in advance). Requests for temporary road closures, in addition to being approved by Council, must be approved by the Police and the Roads and Traffic Authority. All requests for permanent road closures must also be in writing for submission to the Holroyd Traffic Committee. Requests for Permanent Road Closures, in addition to being approved by Council must be approved by the Police, the Roads and Traffic Authority, as well as the Department of Land and Water Conservation. The RTA process is a long one, taking many months and success cannot be guaranteed.
Note: Council's Traffic Engineer will contact the applicant if further information is required and will also advise the applicant of the progress and outcome of the application.
