Applications for Permits

People with certain levels of disability (including medical conditions and mobility restrictions) are eligible for the mobility parking scheme.

Permits to park in parking spaces restricted to disabled persons are issued by the RTA. Customers seeking to apply for a permit to enable them to park in parking spaces reserved for disabled drivers should be advised to contact an RTA Motor Registry office for assistance and advice.

Requests for New Disabled Parking Spaces

Requests for new disabled car parking spaces must be in writing. The request must contain precise details as to the location (including street, nearest cross street, suburb etc), and information supporting the need for the new space(s).

All requests for new disabled car parking spaces are submitted to Council's Traffic Committee and Access Committee for recommendation. Council's Traffic Engineer will contact the applicant if further information is required and will also advise the applicant of the outcome of the request.
