PetFest 2009

PetFest on Sunday 20 September was a fantastic day of fun and celebrations in Holroyd City. Council organised this event at Holroyd Gardens to promote responsible pet ownership. You can see the photos from PetFest 2009.

PetFest is a fun day out for pet lovers (and their pets) with a large number of stalls, displays, educational activities and information with free entertainment all day.

For the kids there was a live appearance by Dora The Explorer and her pet monkey Boots, free pony rides, free animal petting farm, free face painting, free craft and more.

There was also be free microchipping and vet checks along with sheep shearing demonstrations and stalls.

Steve Austin from Harry's Practice was the Master of Ceremonies again this year.

The day's program included PetFest Flyball Cup and a variety of animal shows. This year we added a Pet Passion for Fashion Parade for animals to strut their stuff. All who came with their furry friends enjoyed the day.

We would like to thank your 2009 PetFest sponsors and supporters.

PetFest 2008

Last year's PetFest was held Sunday 21 September 2008 at the Holroyd Gardens. It was a fun day out for all pets; there were dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, rabbits, fish, mice and rats.

Approximately 7500 pet owners and enthusiasts enjoyed displays, obedience training and lots of competitions.

Responsible Pet Ownership

PetFest is all about promoting responsible pet ownership, and creating awareness in animal rescue. All proceeds raised on the day is donated to animal rescue and education for the Holroyd community.

Are you and your pet happy, healthy and wise? Owning a pet is a rewarding and enjoyable experience for both of you! Owners should ensure that their animal is healthy, well-nourished, groomed, vaccinated, properly exercised and socialised.

Dogs and cats must be microchipped and registered. This is essential to re-uniting you and your pet if they ever go missing.
