Park Naming Policy

New names selected for reserves in Holroyd generally reflect an Aboriginal background.

Names are selected from a list of naming options determined as appropriate after consultation with Council's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Consultative Committee.

Names of Aboriginal origin or with an historical background are preferred.

This practice accords with the Guidelines for the Determination of Place Names of the Geographical Names Board.
