History

Did you know Holroyd celebrated its landmark 140 birthday in 2012?

For the history buffs, our City has maintained an impressive portfolio of historical buildings and places of interest dating back to the 1880s, including ‘Linnwood’ in Guildford, a former school and grand private estate which is now a museum offering daily tours.

Feature sites of interest also include the Greystanes (Boothtown) Aqueduct in the Lower Prospect Canal, which was active from 1888, and the Mays Hill Cemetery for outstanding examples of monumental craftsmanship and the resting places of many well known local pioneering families.
