Next of Kin Register

The Holroyd Local Area Command had developed a Next of Kin Register. The register holds information about your next of kin, doctors, dentists and any medical conditions.

This information may assist the ambulance and police in an emergency and can help to locate a relative or other nominated person.

  • Registration is free.
  • Register in person at Merrylands Police Station.
  • You will receive a sticker to place on your phone and a key ring alerting emergency services that you are registered.

If you live alone, it is a good idea to arrange a routine call to someone to let them know you are ok.

For more information, contact the Crime Prevention Officer of the Holroyd Local Area Command on 9897 4850.

Impostors

Senior Citizens can be particularly vulnerable to impostors who can target seniors for their scams and frauds. This can happen in person, over the phone, by mail, computer or even advertising in a magazine or newspaper. It is important to be a wise consumer by looking into any offer that looks too good to be true.

Some tips for avoiding a scam are:

  • Never give out your financial details to accept an offer or prize.
  • Always check identity and if possible, ring the organisation to verify
  • Take you time looking over contracts and agreements. Have someone trusted check it.
  • If you are suspicious, contact the police.
