Collections

Holroyd Library provides a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction items to borrow. More information about some of our collections is provided below.

Basic English
These books and kits are for adults learning English and are available in basic, intermediate or advanced.

CDs
Music compact discs are available for loan, 20 CDs at a time. There is a variety of genres such as pop, classical, jazz and more; CD list.

Children
There are fiction, non-fiction, picture books, readers, magazines, CDs, DVDs and more made especially for younger readers to enjoy.

Computer Programs
There are some computer CDs with information and programs on them. You can borrow 20 per family at a time.

DVDs
Movies, TV shows, educational material and more is available on DVD. You can borrow 10 DVDs at a time for two weeks; DVD list.

Find Legal Answers
These items provide quality legal information written in simple language. They cannot be borrowed; Find Legal Answers Booklist.

HSC Collection
This collection includes text books, study guides and other useful material. These items, except for a lending collection at Merrylands Library, cannot be borrowed.

Indigenous Collection
Resources in the library's indigenous collection provide quality information on the history, art and culture of the indigenous peoples of Australia. The collection includes titles on the Dreamtime, land rights, reconciliation, indigenous art and biographies of well known indigenous Australians.

Languages
Books, newspapers, magazines, videos and CDs are available in Arabic, Chinese and Vietnamese. We can order you books in another language from the State Library. Newspapers are available at Merrylands Library in several languages including Maltese, Italian and Spanish.

Large Print
These books for sight-impaired people include current best sellers and non-fiction.

Magazines, Newspapers and Serials
These subscription publications are available to read in the library and to borrow. You can borrow 10 at a time. The latest issue of a title is available to read in the library but not to borrow until the next issue comes out.

Sheet Music
You can borrow 10 pieces of sheet music at a time from Merrylands Library. There is music for lots of genres and various instruments; sheet music list.

Toy Library
Subscribing to the Toy Library is a good way for your child to have more variety of toys to play with without having to purchase them.

Videos
Movies, TV shows, educational material and more are available on video.

Young Adults
There are fiction, non-fiction, paperbacks, textbooks, magazines and more for youth readers.
