Reporting Pollution

Residents of Holroyd are encouraged to report environmental incidents such as water pollution, illegal discharges, fish kills in our waterways, nuisance odours or air pollution.

Reports should be made to Holroyd Council's 24 hour 7 days a week telephone number 9840 9840. During normal business hours your call will be taken by our Customer Services Centre and directed to the appropriate Council Officer. After hours calls to this number will be answered by Council's paging service and again directed to the appropriate officer.

For major pollution incidents, such as a significant water pollution event or spill of toxic chemicals or oil, you may report it to the Department of Environment, Climate Change & Water's 24 hour 7 days a week Pollution Line service by phoning 13 15 55.

The Department of Environment, Climate Change & Water may either investigate the matter or refer your report to the appropriate Council officer depending on the circumstances of the incident.
