Happy Cat Desexing Program

Following the success of the Happy Cat Desexing Program in recent years, Holroyd City Council is pleased to be able to offer residents a $50 voucher to contribute to the cost of desexing their cat/s again this year!

The Happy Cat Desexing Program was developed as a proactive response to the cat overpopulation problem in our community, which results in the euthanasia of many healthy kittens/cats every year.

The program has also been designed to educate the community about the behavioural benefits associated with desexing their cat which include: a reduction in spraying, yowling, fighting & running away (to find a girlfriend!).

Two local vets have partnered with Council to deliver this service to residents, both of which have also reduced their standard price substantially to make this an offer too good to refuse for cat owners in the community.

To be eligible to participate in the program the cat must be:

  • Owned by a resident of Holroyd City Council; and
  • Microchipped - This can be done at the same time as desexing for an additional (discounted) cost.
