Merrylands Town Centre

Merrylands is the commercial and administrative centre of Holroyd City Council. Located on the Sydney metropolitan rail network, it also acts as a regional transport node, a role that has been strengthened by the upgrading of the transport interchange at Merrylands Railway Station.

Located in the heart of the CBD is Holroyd City Council’s administrative offices, Council Chambers, Library and the Holroyd Centre a first class function/conference centre. Close by is the Holroyd Police Station, a major post office and the Holroyd Community Health Centre.

Merrylands is the largest shopping precinct in the Holroyd area with more than 320 retail outlets. Stockland Merrylands is a major shopping complex featuring a cinema, one of the most successful variety stores in Sydney, two large supermarkets and a variety of food, clothing and specialty shops that cater for the whole family.

The strip shopping, which extends along Merrylands Road and McFarlane Street, offers the community a wealth of shopping opportunities with long-term established businesses attracting many visitors from outside the Holroyd area. There are also five banks, a large hotel and two large clubs located in the CBD with two taxi ranks operating 24 hours per day.

This bustling CBD is fast becoming a place for people to meet, enjoy a coffee and have a chat, with several new outdoor dining areas creating pleasant and relaxing environments for all to enjoy.

Beauty is also high on the list with over 39 hairdressers and beauty shops, many of which have extended hours to cater for the working public.
