Holroyd Council, in conjunction with Auburn and Fairfield City Councils, are offering Women in Business Mentoring program in early 2011 which could be just what is needed to provide you and your business with the ability to take off in 2011 and beyond.
You can download the program information pack, information and application form, and information and application form for mentors.
The program is made possible by funding from Industry and Investment NSW and has helped more than 7,000 women business owners to grow their business since its launch in 1995.
The Program offers an empowering environment where women feel comfortable to discuss their business issues and offer solutions to each other. The networking and peer support that is created during the Program often continues after its completion.
For many graduates of Women in Business, their business growth is the realisation of a life-long dream, the chance to build their own success.
Commencing in February 2011, the Program will offer five workshops covering topics such as Business planning, developing marketing plans, sales strategies, making the most of the internet for sales and marketing, Customer service, business systems, time management and finance. The workshops will be interspersed with fun networking evenings and the program will finish with a graduation and mini expo in June.
The unique feature of this program is the linking of each participant with their own mentor who will be available to guide and assist them with their questions and concerns and to also provide advice for their business. The mentors will be successful business men and women who will be able to draw on their own experiences to support participants.
There is a selection criteria for eligible business owners and a small cost of $500 per business for the course. For more information and to book your place, please call Council’s Place Managers, Di Tulloch on 9840 9871 or Jenny Williams on 9840 9742.

The NSW Government Industry and Investment, Holroyd City Council & Binarix worked together to deliver the Young Entrepreneur Stepping-Up Program - a 5-week program for business owners aged between 18 to 35. The information below is also available on the Young Entrepreneurs brochure.
It provided an opportunity to acquire new skills and develop growth plans and strategies, for young business owners to network and learn from each other, and for each to have a business mentor to act as a sounding board and help face the many challenges that today's highly competitive and rapidly changing global marketplace presents. The objective of the program was to develop and improve the prospecting and sales presentation skills of small business owners so they may recognise and capitalise on opportunities to increase turnover and profit performance.
