Holroyd Happy Holiday Hamper Competition
In December 2008 Council organised a competition in conjunction with local papers where residents suggested ideas to save money at Christmas time.
All prizes were donated by local Holroyd businesses. Thank you to all these retailers who made this competition possible.

Winning Tips
- V. Sison - Give printed vouchers for chores like free lawn mowing, free carpet vacuuming, free dishwashing... all done by yourself.
- S. Brown, Wentworthville - Use LED Christmas lights. They use 90% less energy than standard mini lights and so give you a 'mini eletricity Christmas bill'.
- F. Rapport, Oatlands - Be creative - design cards, bookmarks and decorations; cook mini Christmas cakes (wrapped in pots), yummy rocky road and shortbread - very unique personalised gifts.
- M. Douglass - Don't pay for somone else's labour. Cook, sew, make and grow food, cards, wrapping and gifts. It costs less but means a whole lot more!
