Minor Assistance Program
The Minor Assistance Program provides donations up to $250 for one-off projects or initiatives that are outside the Community Assistance Program guidelines or timeframe that benefit the Holroyd community. Applications are accepted at any time.
Eligibility:
- Non-profit organisations/community groups based in the Holroyd Local Government Area, and/or principally serving the residents and workers of Holroyd.
- Applicants must be incorporated or part of a larger incorporated organisation.
- Applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN).
- Applicants must indicate whether they are or are not registered for the Goods and Services Tax.
- An organisation which has applied for a specific project under the Community Assistance Program cannot apply for that same project during the same year through the Minor Assistance Program.
- Groups cannot receive funding for the same type of project more than once and can only receive one grant per year from this program.
How to apply:
- Organisations should complete an application form giving details of the organisation, its operation and financial situation. If you would like a form posted to you then phone 9840 9908.
- If an application is eligible a report will be prepared for a Council meeting and Council will make a decision regarding the request for assistance.
- All applicants will receive a letter indicating the outcome of their request.
The following conditions will apply to all funds granted by Council:
- The funds are to be used only for those purposes detailed in the application to Council and approved by Council.
- Successful applicants who are registered for the Goods and Services Tax must supply Council with a tax invoice. Council will gross up the grants by 10% for successful applicants who are Goods and Services Tax registered.
- Requests to vary grant usage must be in writing and funds must not be spent unless written Council approval has been received.
- For Minor Assistance Program recipients, an Expenditure certificate will be mailed out with the funding. This should be completed and returned to Council within a two month period.
- Grant recipients are required to acknowledge Councils support on printed and promotional material where appropriate.
- Where funds are approved for the purchase of equipment, such equipment is to be identified. Should the organisation or group cease to exist in the manner for which the subsidy was allocated, this equipment will become the property of Council.
Organisations must agree with the general philosophy of the Community Grants Program; they must support equal opportunity for all people and be non-discriminatory in access to their group/organisation.
