Holroyd Council can do!

Area Assistance Scheme (AAS)

The 2008/2009 funding round opened Friday 29 August and closes Friday 10 October 2008.

The AAS is a funding program administered through the NSW Department of Community Services. The AAS funds projects with budgets between $10 000 and $110 000.

The program aims to provide funding to ‘Capital’ works projects that increase and improve facilities needed for community infrastructure. ‘Other’ projects of a one-off nature might include the production of brochures, information kits, funding for an event or action research.

All projects are funded for one year only and will not be funded if a clear and concise exit strategy is not in place.

Under current funding guidelines all organisations are required to discuss their application with their Local CPO and obtain a registration number before lodging their application.

To assist applicants in developing an application, Council will be hosting an information session on the 15th September 2008 from 9.30 am to 11.30 am. This session will provide useful information to organisations on the AAS eligibility criteria and priorities for the Holroyd area. All organisations wishing to seek AAS funding are strongly encouraged to attend.

To register for the information session or to discuss your project idea, please contact Nexhmije Shala on 9840 9910.

Detailed information regarding the scheme is located at Community Builders.
