Transition to School

Starting school is a stressful time for a child and their families. Holroyd City Council has put together some information on schools in the area and tips for making it all easier in the Transition to School booklet.

Each year our Long Day Care and Occasional Care services operate a transition to school program which assists in preparing children for the new environments and new routines which they will be encounting when starting school.

The programs supplement the preparation for school skills that each service offers based on individual children's developmental readiness.

Every year we also plan a school expo which provides families the opportunity to visit one venue to view what participating local schools have to offer to meet their children's and family needs.
