Holroyd City Council

Holroyd Council can do!

A child gets a cuddleChild Protection

Holroyd City Council actively opposes child abuse and supports child protection and abuse prevention.

Council believes that child protection is the responsibility of both Council and the general community.

You can read more in the brochure on child protection and Council's child protection policy. There is also new information for people who are self-employed in child-related jobs.

Child protection involves:

  • Minimising the possibility of child abuse occurring
  • Training personnel to ensure a safe environment for children
  • Raising the awareness of the community about child protection
  • Responding immediately to allegations of reportable offences/abuse
  • Implementing thorough employment procedures.
NAPCAN is currently running a survey which will engage the community in preventing child abuse and neglect. Complete the survey at the NAPCAN website.
