Made possible through a grant from Ageing Disability & Home Care, the Music & Movement Program offered local school students with multiple disabilities a sense of freedom by creating and enjoying music.
Students and staff from various backgrounds, work environments and with varying abilities, highlighted the diverse nature of people that live, work and play in our community.
A series of music sessions facilitated by music therapist, Robert and Robin - The Golden Stave Music Therapy Centre, were filmed and photographed. Individuals were able to express their diversity in a range of mediums – song, dance, photos and film.
“The project was a great success from our point of view, bringing people together in shared music making. From session to session there were many instances of self expression, communicating and relating through music. It was an uplifting and enlightening experience”
Robin Devlin – Music Therapist
This project was developed in collaboration with a number of project partners – Holroyd City Council, Diverse City Films, The Golden Stave Music Therapy Centre, Baptist Community Services & Holroyd School.
