Development and planning in Holroyd is managed by the Environmental and Planning Services Department. This department develops, manages and enhances Holroyd's built and natural environment and sustains public health on behalf of Council and the Community. The two sections predominantly responsible for development and planning in Holroyd are the Development Services section and the Strategic Planning section.

Development Services

The Development Team is staffed by Building Surveyors, Town Planners, Tree Management Officers and associated staff and is responsible for building and development control within Holroyd.

Some of the core functions of the team include assessment of development applications, construction certificates, tree removal applications, construction inspections, building certificates and fire safety upgrading.

Strategic Planning (including heritage)

Strategic Planning is responsible for preparing various plans, policies and strategies to ensure land is used in a manner that satisfies the needs of current and future residents of the City.

They deals with zoning issues (such as Rezoning Application - Information for Applicants), land use, Section 149 Planning Certificates, the preparation of the Development Control Plan (DCP), heritage matters, Section 94 Contributions, policy preparation and Holroyd Local Environmental Plan.
